The Soneil 2404SX is ideal for bulk charging 24 volt batteries (sealed or wet) up to about 35 amp hour (ah), or as a floating charger (long term maintenance) for 24 volt battery systems to 100 ah. Typical applications include mobility (wheelchair/scooter), etc., and personal riding scooters. The Soneil 2404SX is a 3 stage, constant current charger, with a float mode. This model comes with bare wire ends. An XLR connector is available. The 2404SX replaces the 2404S, with better cooling, and universal input (100 - 240 VAC).

Soneil battery chargers are microprocessor controlled, fully automatic electronic devices, which use switch-mode technology to change AC input voltage to DC output voltage at much faster rates than traditional ferroresonant type chargers, which allows for a much smaller transformer, and therefore less size and weight, and increased efficiency. Proper maintenance of lead acid batteries keeps them healthy, and increases their life expectancy.
Stage 1: Deep Discharge Charging Pulse Mode: LED Flash
The charger starts charging at 0.5V and give pulse current up to 5V. This has
effect of removing loose sulphation formed during deep discharge state of the
battery.
Stage 2: Constant Current Mode (CC): LED Yellow
The charger changes to constant current 2A. When the battery voltage reaches up
to 28.8V, the charging stage changes from CC (Constant Current) to CV
(Constant Voltage) mode.
Stage 3: Constant Voltage Mode (CV): LED Yellow
The charger holds the battery at 28.8V and the current slowly reduces. When the
current reaches 0.5CC (CC=Constant Current), this point is called the Switching
Point. The Switching Point is one of the great features of this battery charger in that it
can adjust the current automatically according to battery capacity.
Stage 4: Standby Voltage Mode: LED Green
The charger maintains the battery voltage at 27.6V and current slowly reduces to
zero. Charger can be left connected indefinitely without harming the battery.
Recharging: LED Yellow
If the battery voltage drops down below 27.6V, the charger changes from any mode to
Constant Current mode and restarts charging. The charging cycle will go through
Stage 2 to Stage 4.
